Movie Rant (CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS!)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The Good:
+ The perfect bridge between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope
+ Awesome ensemble cast. Perfect chemistry
+ Spectacular soundtrack, as expected from a Star Wars film
+ Great fan service, especially the certain cameos and mentions other Star Wars characters
+ K-2SO

The Bad:
- I REALLY can't think of anything bad about the movie!!

The Breakdown (*MINOR SPOILERS TO FOLLOW!!*)
I've always kept my movie rants spoiler-free but it would be near impossible to do so for Rogue One, unless you want to a vague and generic description about it. That is because from the start to the end, Rogue One is all about plot!

It may be just the hype of having just watched the film, but I think Rogue One is the second best Star Wars movie ever! The Empire Strikes Back is still on top. Man I wish I watched it when it was fresh in 1980; imagine the jaw-dropping moment when it was revealed that Vader is Luke's father! As a late 80s baby, I grew up knowing that fact already. But I digress...

Thanks to Rogue One, that "hole" in the first Death Star that has been made fun of for the last 39 years is no longer a laughing matter, but one that has a deep backstory of selfless sacrifice and even love.

From the get go, Rogue One wasted no time in getting the plot rolling, all while keeping the action going AND keeping the chemistry between the characters strong. Seamless - that's the word.

And yes, I know, I have always been using this word, but Rogue One is genuinely FRESH in the sense that while it doesn't lose the feel of a Star Wars movie, it stands out from all the others, and it's not just because it doesn't have any lightsaber duels in it.

Rogue One also showed that the Rebel Alliance wasn't always as united as it seemed in the original trilogy. But it isn't hard to come to the conclusion to the reason that brought them solidarity.

Without C-3PO around, K-2SO provided most of the humour, though not in the goofy manner that 3PO delivers, but through witty dialogue, often with Jyn.

Somewhere in the middle of the film, hints of the fate of the crew of Rogue One was starting to become clear. But that did not prevent me from feeling "the feels" when it all did happen.

Cameos by Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, Tarkin, and a certain legendary female character in the Star Wars universe, and mere mentions of a certain Jedi knight and others provided great fan service and served as the icing on the cake.

Once again, remember to out our Rogue One collection HERE!
