To meet diversified tactical demands, the Karstenian Republic needed to develop Arche armor for ordinary soldiers as well, in addition to the Arche Knights. This was to enable soldiers to take on specialized combat roles that knights were unwilling to lower themselves to undertake. Consequently, a specialized Arche-powered assault armor for soldiers was developed.
This assault armor reduces overall coverage in exchange for increased frontal protection. It enhances sprinting and weapon-mounting capabilities, with a simplified Y-energy canister reloading process. It discards the melee weapons that knightly orders typically require proficiency in, opting for interchangeable ranged weapons to better adapt to modern war tactics. Standard equipment includes the SP40 Aether -Pressured Assault Rifle and Aether -Pressured Grenades, affording ordinary soldiers a considerable level of destructive power.
Within the Mithril Hawk Knight Order, this equipment isn’t suited for traditional battle formations. Instead, it is deployed in conjunction with the Military-Grade Megalith Sloth as Gebirgstruppen—Mountain Assault Troopers. This unit is designed for penetrating challenging terrain and carving out a unique tactical niche within the knightly order. It willingly assumes all missions, base or noble, that knights are reluctant to shoulder.
As a result, a combat unit more adaptable to modern battlefields has come to fruition, serving as the foundational template for future military reforms in Karsten. Unconstrained by knightly training and frontal assaults, it embodies the modern Karstenian tactical ideology of rapid firepower and penetration. Owing to their achievements, the Gebirgstruppen has emerged as a product of its time.
